Slender: The Arrival is the official sequel to Slender. Developed by Blue Isle Studios, in collaboration with Eric Knudson, and published by Agentparsec Studios, this game was launched as one of the most terrifying of its genre. This survival horror game is based on the scary monster created in the Something Awful forum. He will persistently follow and hunt you until he catches you.
You have no weapons or defenses, so the best way you have to survive is running when you are in danger
The game is set in several abandoned and dark locations, such as an defunct mine, a house, or a typically dark forest. These settings have different objectives, depending on which one are you playing. As in previous games, you will only have your flashlight to find items. You have no weapons or defenses, so the best way you have to survive is to run when you are in danger. You will notice the presence of Slenderman when the screen starts to cloud, your vision is blurred and you hear static or white noise. When you notice this, our advice is "flee as fast as you can in the opposite direction".
Feel the presence of your enemy
Once you download this game, you will notice the gameplay of this horror title is similar to previous official and unofficial versions. You have to go through a dark location looking for items such as pages, generators, and so one with only the company of your flashlight, all the while stalked by Slenderman. As you advance in this adventure, the behavior of Slenderman changes. During the first levels, he simply appears once or twice in the distance. In later stages he will appear right before your face, pursuing you much more aggressively. However, he is not the only enemy you will have to face in Slender: The Arrival. A strange girl will chase you from level three on, and the only way to make her stop is by pointing your flashlight at her.
The game is divided into 5 main levels, one extra level and a secret level. If you manage to finish this adventure using normal difficulty, you will unlock Hardcore difficulty. In Hardcore, the storyline changes, where the flashlight can run out of power, your stamina declines faster, and your enemies are much more aggressive. However, in the Easy levels, the flashlight is infinite, your stamina runs out slowly, and enemies are used more like a scare tactic rather than a real threat.
The first chapter is called "Prologue", and here you are introduced to the storyline. You will play Lauren, who is on the way to visit her friend Kate (better if you do not take your eyes off of her...). Anyways, Kate isn't there. You must start looking for your friend, as you realize that something paranormal has happened. The second chapter “The Eight Pages” consists of collecting 8 pages in a park, which have clues about where your friend is. In chapter three ("Into the Abyss"), you will explore a mine, and your mission is to activate generators. Here, Slenderman's new proxy, your friend Kate, will start to chase you. In the next chapter, you will have to close windows and doors to avoid Slenderman.
The final chapter is the ending and, depending on which difficulty (or platform) you are playing, the plot changes. We are not going to spoil you what will happen in each one; let’s just say that when Slenderman chases you...you will never be free again, and you have few options for survival. The extra level "Genesis" was added in version 1.3 of Slender: The Arrival, and the secret level is unlocked by collecting the Charlie Matheson Jr. poster three times in the same session, and not following a series of steps.
